Five Figure Fanwork Exchange 2020 Letter
Jul. 31st, 2020 11:45 pmDear author,
I'm so excited for this exchange! As usual, all my prompts and rambling below are just suggestions. If you have an idea for any of these characters/ships, please do feel free to go for it. Outside of my DNWs, I'm open to anything from lighthearted fluff to plotty casefic and worldbuilding to hardcore darkfic and smut. You can also take any of my general likes as prompts in themselves.

What is it?
A classic survival horror series about young women outsmarting scissor-wielding bad guys. My requests are specifically for characters from the spinoff game Clock Tower: Ghost Head (The Struggle Within in the west), which requires no knowledge of the rest of the series to enjoy.
Ghost Head starts out with a relatively simple horror plot (girl visits her uncle's house, suddenly everything is zombies, yada yada). Except that the girl in this case has an abrasive male "alternate personality" who is absolutely not having any of this supernatural shit, and it's delightful to see this innocent schoolgirl swearing like a sailor and kicking ghost children in the face.
Where do I find it?
Please do not play this game. Like, I am telling you outright, do not play the game I'm recommending to you. Not just because legal copies are, like, a thousand dollars on eBay. But because it follows the old-school point and click template of being obtuse as all hell, and is widely considered one of the most frustrating games to play even with a guide.
Instead, watch a nice movie version! And read the short prologue manga that came with the game's guide! That way you get all the interesting character content, with none of the frustration. :D
- Bates -
Boy oh boy do I love Bates. I love his sassy, chaotic energy. I love his willingness to stab children if it'll keep Alyssa safe. I love his complete lack of regard for any measure of politeness to anyone other than Alyssa. Honestly, he's such a good character, with potential for both angst and humor. I'm dying for anything that explores more of him - past or future.
* Starting with "future"...Bates is still alive and well after Ending A, which means that he's now going through a young woman's transition into adulthood. I'd kill to see how Bates deals with going through the trials of Alyssa's everyday life. College? Crappy entry-level jobs? DATING? It's probably a mess, and I'm here for it.
* I saw a post-canon comic on Pixiv where an adult Alyssa was working with Alex (the detective dude), using her and Bates' unique skill set and experience to solve paranormal crimes. That sounds like so much fun.
* Speaking of Alex: I honestly don't passionately ship him with Alyssa, but I think it would be hilarious to see the two of them try to have a relationship, if only to see how Alex deals with Bates being the inevitable third wheel.
* Pre-canon things! When did Bates first start manifesting himself inside Alyssa? Did he have his standoffish personality right from the start, or was it something he developed after growing jaded over the years? I'd love to see some incidents from earlier in Alyssa's childhood, where Bates either made her life more complicated, helped her, or both.
* The relationship between Bates and Allen Hale is super intriguing to me, and loaded with angst opportunities. How messed up must it feel to be a young Bates? Your birth parents bury you alive as an infant. A strange man digs your sister up and takes her in with malicious intentions, but grows to love her and treat her as her own. Having barely clung to life inside her, you show yourself again...only to learn that your new adoptive father hates your guts too, wishes you would have died, and does everything in his power to suppress you so he can have the perfect daughter he wants. Shit's fucked, man. I'd adore seeing some development of their relationship earlier on in life. Did Bates ever try to win Hale's affection, just to end up failing? Did Hale ever even attempt to accept the fact that he took on a two-for-one deal with his little graverobbing stunt?
* Okay, while I was writing Alyssa-deals-with-dating prompts looking for humorous takes, I somehow made myself feel bad about how hard it would be for them to find love. And now I'd kiiiinda be into a story about Alyssa and Bates finding themselves an OC partner who's definitely shocked about the whole surprise!poly situation, but finds that he/she cares for Bates just as much as for Alyssa. And Bates is just. Baffled and confused, because what the fuck no one ever likes him, how is he supposed to respond to kindness again?
What is it?
An ongoing comedy manga about a hapless and cowardly human teacher who ends up teaching at a high school full of youkai. It has a huge ensemble cast filled with lovable, diverse, and adorable characters, and is as heartwarming as it is funny. (And, uh, as of vol 8, as fucked up as it is funny. Fair warning.)
Where do I find it?
It's available in paperback and digitally on Amazon, Comixology, iBooks...basically anywhere that sells licensed manga.
- Haruaki Abe/Mikoto Sano -
Look. You give me a sadistic delinquent student who loves to torment his masochistic nerd teacher, and then give them a disdain-to-respect-to-affection relationship arc, I'm gonna love it and want more.
(I'd prefer no serious "omg I'm a teacher dating/screwing my student!" angst, simply because with the way these two's power dynamic is in canon, I can't see it playing out that way.)
* Youkai of the week casefic! Some supernatural shenanigans befall Haru and Sano and they have to work together to solve a problem, growing closer along the way.
* So when does Sano first realize he's gone from hating Haru to tolerating him to admiring him to having a massive crush on him? And how much does Haru have to suffer because Sano's so goddamn mad about that realization?
* Courtship is hard when you're a yakubyougami and your gestures of affection come out as violence and misfortune. He's trying, okay?
* The two have to sneak into a youkai event, so it's time for: Undercover as a couple!
* Dear god, can you imagine Haruaki's family finding out he's dating a youkai? His parents would probably attempt to throw a wedding ceremony on the spot, and for Ameaki...there will be blood.
* I'm absolutely here for 10K of awkward teacher/student smut. Definitely involving a lot of sadomasochism, probably involving sailor uniforms, potentially involving inappropriate use of yakubyougami magic. (Also, just saying: Sano's joking "yeah, I'm a god, bow down to me" line made me crave some genuine domination/worship kink. You know he'd love it.)
What is it?
A Zelda game. It's a Zelda game.
Where do I find it?
Because of its sword motion controls, the only way to play this game is on the Wii (and maybe the Wii U?), with the use of a Wii Motion Plus controller. There are plenty of copies available online! You just...have to buy a Wii Motion Plus, too.
That said, there are several cutscene compilations on youtube, and lots of let's plays. Personally, I'm enjoying Roamer's blind LP - he's so genuinely enthusiastic and enamored with the game and it makes me smile. c: For a more abridged, story-focused experience, Zelda Universe's fandub movie is pretty good.
- Demise/Ghirahim -
Ghirahim is 90% of the reason I played this game. He didn't disappoint. I'm a sucker for flamboyant, OTT villains in the first place, but then they had to call me out personally by adding angsty unrequited loyalty kink. How dare they.
I love how, even though we only have one scene where Ghirahim interacts with his master proper, it couldn't be more obvious that Demise does not give a single shit about the feelings or well-being of the man (well, the sword) who's spent ages trying to save him. It says a lot about the dynamic between the two, and I'd love something that explores their relationship before Demise got sealed away.
* [chants] Ghirahim origin story! Ghirahim origin story! I love speculating on how exactly Demise came to wield a living, humanoid sword, especially one that mirrors the Master Sword. Maybe Demise had Ghirahim created first, and then Hylia was like "oh shit that's a cool idea, better make my own." Maybe Fi and Ghirahim were both created by Hylia, but Demise somehow got his hands on Ghirahim, becoming his new owner by force, manipulation, or simply convincing. Maybe something else entirely!
* Demise was not a nice dude, and from what little we saw, I can't imagine he treated Ghirahim too nicely either. I am very, very much here for sword whump with Demise being a terrible, abusive master.
* Let's talk about smut, shall we? I truly can't imagine happy, 100% consensual sex with these two, but anything from milder dubcon to all-out noncon is welcome. For traditional demon-on-sword action, loving focus on the MASSIVE HONKING SIZE DIFFERENCE is very welcome. For less traditional sexytimes, Ghirahim all but states outright that violence turns him on. Use that knowledge as you will.
* Xeno! Look, you can't convince me that Ghirahim has normal male sexual anatomy. He's a demon sword. But the boy ain't got that tongue for nothing. And I'm very fond of the idea that the gem in his true form is his biggest erogenous zone.
* Combining the 'Demise being a terrible master' thing with the 'Ghirahim's sensitive bits' thing, umm...can we talk about the whole sword-removal process? It looks horrendously painful. Ghirahim's hysterical laughter makes me think it's something he's resigned himself to after experiencing it many times, and/or is attempting to seem like he's enjoying it. So, y'know. Sword guro. Just saying.
What is it?
I made a full promo post this year! TL;DR: Terrible kinky serial killers and yakuza being terrible and kinky at each other.
(Note 1: I've both read the manga and seen the movie. I wrote my requests with the manga in mind, simply because manga Kakihara is a lot more openly bi and horny and that's my shit, but I'm A-okay with movie based fic! Or a blend of the two. Pick whatever elements you like from each, go wild.)
(Note 2: I'm waiving my genderbend DNW for this fandom.)
- Ichi/Kakihara -
You know, I facetiously describe a lot of my favorite ships as "the two most terrible people ever who make the most dysfunctional couple ever." But I think...I think these two take the cake in that department. Two perverts who have absolutely no redeeming human qualities, resort to deadly, pointless violence at the drop of a hat, and have the combined emotional intelligence of a rock. They're perfect for each other! :D
* Most fic with these two would probably have to take off from after the balcony/rooftop finale, but if you can figure out how to make something before that work, go for it! Maybe Kakihara indulges in some very realistic and thought-out fantasies of Ichi coming to kill him that turn into Ichi doing...more...than that. Kakihara would take noncon fantasies to a whole new level.
* R63 AU. Literally everything is the same except that Ichi and Kakihara are women. Or just Kakihara is female! I'm here for it.
* With how easily-manipulated Ichi is, I can all too easily see Kakihara convincing him to ditch Jijii and come work with him. What kind of fucked-up domestic happily ever after do these two bastards get up to? And how many spit-takes are done when Kakihara shows up at some yakuza hangout with his new serial killer boyfriend?
* Some canon divergence where Ichi and Kakihara meet without Jijii's interference, and Ichi isn't actively attempting to kill Kakihara. How does Kakihara react to finally having the famed Ichi to himself?
- Anjou/Kakihara -
To say Kakihara has any good qualities would be a stretch, and yet, you can't help but admire his love for his boss. And, y'know, his love for getting beaten to a pulp by said boss to serve his boner. Honestly, just lean into their canon dynamic and keep Anjou from kicking the bucket, and I'll be happy.
* First meetings! Backstory! Was Kakihara always so flashy and outrageous, or did he develop that persona over time after getting comfortable in Anjou's gang? Was itlove at first sight lust at first punch for Kakihara, or did it take him a while to realize what he was feeling for his boss? How did Anjou feel about bringing a wildcard like Kakihara under his wing, especially with how unpredictable he could be? How did Anjou react to his right hand man's very, very obvious crush on him and his fists?
* Do...do I even have to mention what kind of smut I'd like between these two? Exactly what they get up to in canon. There doesn't need to be sex. Kakihara's violence boner is more than enough for me. :D
* R63 AU. Look. Something about a sexually aggressive masochistic crimelord lady and her indulgent older woman boss who beats her up to keep her happy? Makes my id happy.
* Outsider POV! I am so, so here for a look into how other yakuza view Anjou and Kakihara. How many cocky young criminals made the mistake of assuming Kakihara is just Anjou's boytoy? What does a new inductee to Anjou's clan think as they slowly realize that no, Kakihara isn't just putting on an act to intimidate people, he really is Like That? Does a well-meaning but naive outsider assume that Kakihara is being abused against his will and try to "help?" Just...give me all of people trying to process what the hell the relationship is between Anjou and his enforcer.
What is it?
I made a full promo post this year! TL;DR: Fun surreal claymation adventures.
(Note 1: As far as I'm aware, Dedusmuln's gender is never specified. I'm equally happy with them being a he, a she, or a they.)
(Note 2: You do not have to try and emulate the writing style of the first game, holy shit. No random text generators required.)
- Gibby/Wayne -
Mmmmmm, ambiguous angsty relationships. The little dialogue these two have with each other says a lot, and it leaves one huge question: What the hell happened between them, exactly?
* Genuinely, go wild with your speculation on their backstory. Gibby pretty much confirms that Wayne used to live on the moon with him in H2, but what were they doing up there? What were they to each other, exactly? And what did Gibby do to Wayne that drove him out from the moon and prompted Gibby to apologize to him?
* Even if I can't see the characters in Hylics having "sex" in the most traditional sense, feel free to lean on Gibby being domineering or overbearing in abstractly intimate ways. Possessive touching, looming, completely ignoring any concept of personal space, etc.
* Gibby's offer of 'a space in his palace' to Wayne at the end of H2 just SLAYED me. It tells me that no matter what Wayne does to oppose Gibby, Wayne is still something special or important to him, even if for the wrong reasons. I would adore some canon divergence where Wayne has to go along with Gibby's new rule - whatever that entails.
- Wayne/Somsnosa -
Gosh, these two are so cute together. I want them to find happiness in one another and make each other's lives better. <3
* First meetings and developing relationships! What led them to each other, and how did they grow close?
* Hurt/comfort, pls. Wayne helping Somsnosa realize she's not alone, Somsnosa helping Wayne move on from whatever happened back on the moon...anything!
* Wayne helping Somsnosa out with her ranch. Keeping a business running smoothly is hard, man.
* Clay xeno. Like I mentioned above, I can't really see these kind of characters having what humans would think of as sex, but that doesn't mean they don't have other ways of being intimate with each other!
- Wayne/Somsnosa/Pongorma/Dedusmuln -
THE GANG'S ALL HERE.
* Post-canon adventures! Going on archaeology expeditions, taking their new band on tour, going on more missions for the Waynehouse, etc.
* Hurt/comfort is also a big one here. Just. Any of the crew needing something and getting it from their allies. It would delight me.
* Developing relationshiiip. Do some of them even have past relationship experience? I imagine there's some kinks (heh) to work out while they get to know each other, but in the end, they're perfect together.
* Bed and bath sharing is canon. That is all.
* Clay xeno. Like I mentioned above, I can't really see these kind of characters having what humans would think of as sex, but that doesn't mean they don't have other ways of being intimate with each other!

Was it
* Do...do I even have to mention what kind of smut I'd like between these two? Exactly what they get up to in canon. There doesn't need to be sex. Kakihara's violence boner is more than enough for me. :D
* R63 AU. Look. Something about a sexually aggressive masochistic crime
Hylics
