Deadly Premonition

What is it?

Deadly Premonition is a mystery/adventure game that's notable for being a transcendentally weird experience. It's simultaneously dumb as shit and totally genius, with some fantastic characters and dynamics. While playing it, I went from wheeze-laughing at the goofy dialogue to wanting to bawl my eyes out at a plot point resolution in a heartbeat.

The pitch: FBI agent Francis York Morgan (Call Him York, Please, That's What Everyone Calls Him) arrives in a small town to solve a murder case. The literal first thing he does in the story is crash his car because he's too busy arguing with his coworker about how they're shipping Tom & Jerry wrong, and they need to understand the codependent S&M dynamic between them. I think that's all I need to say about why I love him.

If you have an Xbox One, Xbox 360, or PS3, play the game there. If you look, you'll find that it's also available on Steam and Switch, but don't play those ports if you value your sanity. I can highly recommend the Two Best Friends Play LP. They capture the important story bits, and it's entertaining to watch someone go on the journey from "what the hell is this game, it sucks" to "THIS IS THE BEST WORST GAME EVER, I LOVE IT."

- Francis York Morgan/Francis Zach Morgan -

Note: I have played A Blessing in Disguise. Feel free to incorporate things from the 2005 section of that story! But, I'd prefer nothing set in the 2019 sections. I'm also not a big fan of the Director's Cut framing device.

These two are so damn sweet. I adore all of York's "discussions" with Zach, and the fact that they're codependent but in, like, a wholesome way? Not to mention all the opportunities to fuck around with bodysharing and the weird eldritch nature of the White/Red Rooms.

* There's a conversation in DP2 where a character all but outright tells York that Zach will be corrupted by the red trees if York ever leaves him; they'll come to fill in the emotional void that York left. Sooooo. Something post-canon where Zach struggles to live without York and the red-soul-demon-whateverthefuck comes to him wearing York as a disguise? I think it'd be neat.

* Teenage York/Zach adventures! Did York use Zach to help him cheat on tests at school? What kind of shenanigans did they get up together? Them being adorably awkward in Baby's First Punk Outfit! Anything, really. :D

* My mind keeps coming back to the idea of Zach taking over temporarily at times when he worries something might be too traumatic for York to remain intact. Maybe York is on a case pursuing a dangerous criminal and gets himself caught up in something awful (torture/noncon/etc.). Zach panics and shoves York out for the duration, to spare him from that. Which leaves a perfect opportunity for tender hurt/comfort afterwards...

* I'm always down for some PWP. These two make it work somehow, I'm sure! Maybe York gives Zach control of their hands for a bit when they want to have fun. We've also seen that York is probably not entirely human, so there's always the possibility of him manipulating White/Red Room magic in fun xeno-ish ways.

Manhunt 2

What is it?

Manhunt is a duology of stealth horror games notable for being so violent that ratings boards fought tooth and nail to ban the shit out of them. Which sadly overshadowed the fact that they're actually pretty damn fun games. The pairing I'm requesting is from the second entry in the series, which is totally standalone from the first.

The short version: Daniel Lamb is a nerdy, sensitive family man who blinked and found himself on the run from government agents and hitmen. No, he doesn't remember why. Luckily he's got his loyal BFF Leo to support and guide him through these troubled times! Sure, Leo's a sadistic sociopath who gets off on watching Daniel brutally kill the guys coming after him, but...Leo's always been nice to him, and that's what Daniel needs right now.

The game is widely available. The PC release is abandonware, and is also the only version of the game where everything is uncensored. It's also on PS2 and PSP. (Wii, too, but the controls on that version are super jank.) A nice longplay/movie of the game is available here.

- Leo Kasper/Daniel Lamb -

These two smash together so many things I love in my dysfunctional ships. Bodysharing! Manipulation! Violence! Conflicted feelings of resentment and gratitude! They're all kinds of fucked up and I'm here for more of it.

* I like how Dr. Whyte's grand happy-ending plan was "give Daniel amnesia and dump him off on his own." As if we didn't just spend the whole game learning why that's a terrible idea. With the Pickman bridge unable to be fully removed and "David" now having no idea that he should be wary of a mysterious helpful man named Leo, Leo has a perfect opportunity to manipulate this blank slate in his favor once again...

* First meetings! God, how awkward is it to wake up and realize you're in another man's body, and he has no idea and is just talking to you like everything's totes normal?

* I can't imagine these two having a healthy relationship, but I could certainly see them being lonely and sexually deprived and having rough quickies in an office closet during an assassination mission, or something. (Regardless of his actual nature, Daniel can clearly feel Leo physically interacting with him. Therefore, they can bone. I will take no challenges to this logic.)

* Speaking of boning. I'm really, really interested in exploring Leo's extreme sadism and the fact that Daniel is the only person he can actually touch, in his weird mind-prison-realm. Maybe after a long mission filled with lots of murder, Leo can't take it any more and yanks Daniel into a dark corner and uses him to get off. This could be dubcon or outright noncon, if only based on the fact that Daniel can't actually, like, escape from Leo. And maybe Daniel feels like he owes Leo this much, after having been saved by him so many times. (May I also suggest: Gunplay. Lots of gunplay.)

Balan Wonderworld

What is it?

Balan Wonderworld is a bright, jazzy 3D platformer/collect-a-thon about a magical theater that helps people process their anxieties and traumas. You should not play it. I'm serious. Not only because it's bad enough to make it onto the Wikipedia page of games notable for how bad they are. But also because there is practically no plot or character details in the game itself.

What I would recommend, if you'd like to get the good parts of canon without the frustration:

1. Read the "Story" and "Cast" sections of the official website, to get the premise.
2. Watch the cutscenes, if you'd like. (You can skip the dance numbers. I promise, you can skip the dance numbers.)
3. Read the official novelization. Which is where they put all the, y'know, PLOT and CHARACTERIZATION. It's available on the usual digital book stores.

- Balan/Lance -

...Listen. I've long ago accepted that I no willpower when presented with a set of characters whose dynamic I'm a sucker for. It doesn't help when they're weirdly hot, too. With these two, I'm down for anything from saccharine fluff to bittersweet angst to full-on xeno smut. (I don't mind their human forms, but their normal forms have so much more *clenches fist* potential...)

You absolutely don't have to write rhyming dialogue. Buuut if you want to, be my guest. :D

* I'm fond of the alternate canon interpretation where Lance isn't really corrupted or evil. Rather, he and Balan are just acting out roles in a play, giving the guests a clear good guy and bad guy. At some point, though, Lance is tired of getting beaten up and gives Balan an ultimatum: "Next time, YOU'RE the villain." Cue role reversal AU.

* I am HERE for the inevitable Balan corruption arc we were teased in the book. Whoopsy-daisy, looks like someone's getting attached to his humans. Does Balan's descent into hostility play out differently from Lance's? How does Lance react to it? (I imagine there's a lot of "I told you so," combined with a "welcome to the dark side" sentiment...)

* If there's one good thing I can say about the Balan Bouts: It's adorable seeing these two basically play-fighting. Come on! Look at Lance's lil' happy smile and 'tag, you're it' body language! They're having a great time and I'm decreeing this is what they do when they're bored and want to tease each other. Or as foreplay. Both work equally well.

* I'm 100% down for sexy happenings with these two. Especially if you'd like to go a xeno-ish route where their standard forms don't have typical human genitalia setups. I mean, Lance's tentacles and Balan's mouth are right there. Those sure look like erogenous zones to me. I'm equally interested in happy consentacles, hatesex, or dub/noncon with Lance starting to get dark and violent in bed when his negative energy gets too strong.

Lookism

What is it?

A drama/action webcomic about a bullied high school boy who wakes up one day and suddenly has two different bodies to switch between on a whim. While the story starts out as the typical loser-to-popular school life wish fulfillment, it takes a sharp swerve into "angsty gang warfare" around 200 chapters in. It's far from a perfect canon, and it's over 350 chapters long. I love it nonetheless, mainly for its strong characters.

- Daniel/Gun -

Gun is absolutely one of my favorite characters. I love that we have this hyper-competent, masculine figure who's established as the pinnacle of strength and badassery for the rest of the cast. And then: Surprise! He's bisexual! And he's a total masochist who'd love nothing more than for our MC to pleasure him by beating him into the ground! It's beautiful.

I normally don't have top/bottom preferences for my ships, but when it comes to these two, I would prefer Gun to be the one bottoming if there's smut.

* For me, the fun part of this ship comes from the contrast in typical sexual roles. Gun is older, more experienced, and holds all the power over Daniel. But he's also a masochist who wants Daniel to beat him (and/or top him) without holding back. Daniel is so fucking out of his depth but he really doesn't have much of a choice now that he's gotten himself tangled up in Gun's world. In conclusion: Fuck him UP, Daniel.

* I love that Gun jumped to full-on sugar daddy at the drop of a hat, and that Daniel has no qualms about spending all his money. What happens when Gun pays Daniel a visit and asks to be compensated for that astronomical bar tab? ;)

* I am very much here for Goo being his usual endearingly assholish self, interfering and poking fun at Gun's new object of obsession.

* Gun takes Daniel out on the most obnoxiously expensive and formal date possible. Daniel finds it insufferable, much like Gun himself.

- DG (James Lee)/Ma Taesoo -

Continuing on the theme of "pretty boys beating up and topping older men with eye injuries." God, these two came out of nowhere for me. Take the already-tasty trope of 'I've been obsessing over this one rival ever since he beat me years ago.' Combine it with DG showing emotion for the first time ever because Taesoo is here for him. And them just having the time of their life kicking the shit out of each other.

I don't really have any specific prompts for these two. I'd love to see their further interactions after their latest fight. Other important things: DG/James canonically has a huge dick, and goes straight-up feral when fighting Taesoo. If you ask me, he should combine these two features and fuck the haughty right out of the King of Ansan.

How to Fight (Viral Hit)

What is it?

A drama/action webcomic about a high school student who starts a Youtube channel to call out bullies. This, uh, escalates. Before long he's facing off with beloved Youtubers who are also hardened criminals and would literally not think twice about murdering him. There's so many fraught, complicated relationship dynamics throughout the cast, and there's just. Just. There's just a LOT OF FEELINGS, okay.

- 244/Baek Seongjun -

This pair of fictional gangster Youtubers is ruining my life. They're just...SO uniquely fucked up? The mixture of affection and resentment and dependence and pride. The offhanded confirmation that Seongjun is the first and only person 244 has cared for in YEARS. The fact that 244 is so damn indignant about caring for Seongjun that he goes full stabby yandere the moment Seongjun rejects his offer of closeness. The fact that Seongjun *literally* begged on his knees to be taken back even after 244 outright told him he was gonna end up dead if they stayed together. I just. I can't.

I would humbly request we KonMari that pesky little character death. Setting things pre-ch102 is great, or I'd love an AU where 244 faked Seongjun's death and kept him locked up in one of his shipping containers, 'bad end of a BL VN' style.

Note: I've been spotty about keeping up with the series after chapter 103. So you are more than welcome to ignore any developments since then.

* Considering Wangguk's whole "just WHAT are you and Seongjun to each other?" interrogation of 244, that poor guy had to have seen some shit. I'd love a snapshot of Seongjun and 244 having blatantly obvious sexual tension in front of the rest of XJ, and Wangguk having a "sirs this is a Wendy's" moment.

* They fuck on the boat. That's it. That's the prompt.

* Petplay. So much petplay. Which Seongjun resists and pretends to hate, mainly because he's furious about how much it turns him on to be overtly submissive to someone who already controls so much of his life.

* Listen. Before we had their backstory, I joked that Seongjun only grew his hair out because 244 liked it. We then got: Seongjun growing his hair out after 244 told him he needed to become the kind of man he wanted... then promptly cutting it off the moment 244 dumped him. I'm not saying I called it, but I called it and 244 totally has a thing for Seongjun's pretty hair. So. Lots of grooming and hair kink, y/y?

Marathon

What is it?

Marathon is a trilogy of sci-fi FPS games about a cyborg supersoldier who has a bad day on the job. He gets mixed up in the affairs of several evil AIs and aliens who have a habit of kidnapping him for their own agendas, and it goes about as smoothly as you'd expect. The games are lots of fun, packed with worldbuilding and character development, and have plenty of ship potential among the various combinations of AIs, humans, cyborgs, and aliens.

- Durandal/Tycho -

The promise of "weird jealous pseudo-incestuous AI hateship" is what nudged me to play the series in the first place years ago, and oh boy did these two NOT disappoint. I just love the delicious combination of Durandal and Tycho's various hangups and mutual stubbornness playing off each other, and I always want more of it.

* It's fun to explore these two pre-M1, when their dynamic was so different from what it eventually became...or was it? Tycho was, presumably, not on a baseline of "fucked up and evil." Durandal was evidently wrong somehow, suffering under Strauss as he was, but clearly not in a way that raised enough red flags for anyone to intervene. Was there tension there, or did Tycho and Durandal actually get along decently for some time?

* I'm never gonna get over the fact that Tycho has AI daddy issues about someone else's AI dad. Or his sheer obsessiveness about his brother. Anything exploring this weird emotional soup that Tycho's built up after being broken down and rebuilt in Durandal's image would be great.

* On a lighter note, consider: For handwavey reasons, the two AIs are forced to work together to overcome some greater nuisance, with all the UST-filled bickering that entails. Perhaps the security officer's been put in danger out of both of their reach, and they'll be damned if they let their valuable cyborg boyfriend asset be taken away...

* I am not saying I can tell you how to write AI hatesex. I am, however, saying that I would love to read AI hatesex, in whatever form you can conceive.

- Durandal/Bernhard Strauss -

Ahhhh, my die-hard whump pairing. For a character who's killed off before you hit the title screen, Strauss casts such a long shadow over Durandal and his future actions. The little glimpse we get of pre-invasion Durandal's mindset is heartbreaking, and of course, Tycho's references to "abuse" and "shame" are nothing if not horribly inspiring...

* Listen. I don't have a specific prompt in this vein, but know that I am literally ALWAYS here for Durandal suffering at Strauss's hand in various awful ways. I promise.

* Outsider POV is a fun angle with these two. Whether it's the other AIs or humans on the Marathon pre-M1, or maybe Tycho receiving flashes of Durandal's Complicated Feelings about Strauss as he tries to rebuild his fragmented consciousness post-Pfhor-torture, it would be great.

* During/post-canon: The security officer discovers an old document/recording/etc. that reveals more about Durandal's relationship with Strauss than Durandal had ever been planning to tell him. I'm sure bringing it up and encouraging Durandal to talk about his trauma goes VERY smoothly and not badly at all.

Original Work

- Troubled Young Man/Only Witness To Murder He Committed -

I like how many different directions you could take this premise in. I'd be happy with any of 'em!

* Does the witness actually care about the fact that someone was just killed? Maybe our murderer starts freaking out thinking he needs to get rid of the witness, and the witness comes out with, "Don't worry, I actually came here to murder someone too. You're cool. :D"

* Is the witness human? Maybe he's some sort of dark supernatural entity who's a greater threat to the murderer than he anticipated...

* Playing the dynamic a bit more straight: A terrified witness offering sexual favors if the murderer will spare his life? The witness being the murderer's best friend, who's having to rethink his relationship and that whole "I'd bury a body for you, bro" line he'd said when he was trying to flirt? Go as wild and dark as you'd like. I'm here for it.

What is it?

A sci-fi horror manga filled to the brim with body horror, freaky alien creatures, and sexy, sexy cannibalism. I wrote a full promo post for it this year!

(Note 1: Considering Yamabiki's whole horny cannibal mpreg deal in canon, I'm totally waiving my pregnancy DNW for this fandom. Go wild.)

(Note 2: Even if it's not in my DNWs, I understand that writing a certain level of underage without it being opted into might give some people pause. So, consider this me explicitly opting in to mentions/flashbacks of Yamabiki's childhood trauma, and giving you permission to not think too hard about Natsune's technical age. :P)

- Kiriyu/Yamabiki -

Fuck me, I love the complicated, dysfunctional power play these two have going on so much. Kiriyu thinking he can take advantage of his carefree son-in-law and Yamabiki innocently and effortlessly outgunning him at every turn is just. Good shit. The best shit. Some specific prompts:

* Pre-Cradle, I can't see Yamabiki being genuinely attracted to Kiriyu...but I can absolutely see him deciding to fuck with Kiriyu and throw him off his game by flirting with him once he realizes that Kiriyu feels so incredibly threatened by his presence. Like with everything Yamabiki does, Kiriyu doesn't have a goddamn clue how to handle it.

* Along those same lines: The thing Kiriyu values most is his good public reputation, and Yamabiki knows it. After Kiriyu pisses him off by destroying another one of his experiments or something, Yamabiki sets out to punish him by making sure rumors spread that the illustrious Professor Kiriyu is having illicit relations with not only one of his students, but his own son-in-law. Scandalous!

* Also, if you're going with something pre-Cradle, don't feel the need to push Yuki out of the picture! I'm perfectly down with Yamabiki genuinely liking and caring for her, even as he's fucking - figuratively and literally - with her dad. Oooh, actually...some sort of outsider POV with Yuki trying to decide if she's just imagining that something illicit is going on between her fiance and her father? Would be A+.

* After their messy family reunion in the Cradle, there is so much dirtybadwrong potential. Mainly in the form of Kiriyu jumping at the chance to get revenge by doing terrible, nonconny things to Yamabiki, now that he has his Halcyon monsters to give him the upper hand. Feel free to get as terrible as you want - Kiriyu using medical implements in ways that would make Hippocrates cringe, Kiriyu having one or several of the Halcyon members do his dirty work and rape Yamabiki, Kiriyu operating on Yamabiki to try and turn him into a mindless, lustful monster...go for it. So long as Yamabiki is still alive at the end of it all. (I wouldn't say no to a handwavey mention that Natsune magically sweeps in and saves him in the last paragraph. ^^;)

- Natsune/Yamabiki -

I feel so blessed that this ship exists. All throughout canon I kept thinking "oh man wouldn't it be iddy if...but there's no way they'll go there." And then they went there. Every time.

I'm happy with all sorts of content for these two. Post-canon where they're Happy and Okay and finally get to have a (somewhat) normal relationship with another human! In-canon angsty smut leaning into all the body horror and breeding! Post-canon happy smut leaning into the body horror and breeding - but in a chill, consensual way! Both of them getting to finally work through their (many, many) traumas! So many possibilities. Some specific prompts:

* Hear me out here: A canon divergence where Yamabiki tries to execute his cloning plan earlier in the timeline. The higher-ups spying on them see "The weird mutant prettyboy does some strange sexual ritual with the Regenerator -> more Regenerators???" Cue them seizing Natsune and Yamabiki and drugging them up to try and make a new set of Reproducers.

* Speaking of the Reproducer drugs, another idea: One of them accidentally pricks themselves with a tiny dose of the serum. They're not irreversibly gone, but someone's gotta step up to the plate and satisfy them to bring them back down to earth...

* A few years after escaping the Cradle, Natsune's chronological age gives him a surprise when he stumbles into a very late puberty. Suddenly he has all these hormones and desires and no idea what to do with them. Yamabiki has a few ideas.

* Due to the lighthearted face Yamabiki puts on, Natsune kind of assumed that all of Yamabiki's flirting/foreplay was meant as a joke. There's no way the guy's actually attracted to a mutant experiment like him, right? (Wrong, and Yamabiki is happy to prove it.)

* As much as I love the horny cannibalism we got in the manga, given the title Starving Anonymous, I am a bit surprised we never got to see Natsune letting Yamabiki nibble on him just for sustenance. How long were they down there? C'mon, he must have been hungry! Or, or: Years later when they're living a normal life, Natsune's sworn he won't be treated like a piece of meat ever again. Cue Yamabiki ruining those plans when he admits he wouldn't mind cutting off a little bit of Natsune's flesh and marinating it for dinner. Just. Fluffy, romantic cannibalism. <3

* A twist on Bad Guys Made Them Do It: Canon divergence where the boys don't succeed at fighting off the Halcyon group. Kiriyu wants to degrade and ruin his son-in-law as soon and as brutally as possible. He announces to the others his intentions to have a Halcyon member rape Yamabiki, which Natsune realizes would all but certainly kill him. Desperate and short on time, Natsune goes with the first plan that comes to mind...and volunteers to do it instead. After all, if Kiriyu's just after humiliation, what's more humiliating than being violated by your own ally, right? Right?!

Ichi the Killer

What is it?

An OTT violent and horny action manga (+ movie adaptation) about a hedonistic, masochistic yakuza member and the childish, sadistic serial killer he becomes obsessed with. I cannot exaggerate the amount of horny violence in this series enough; let's just say that the movie got banned in several countries, and it was absolutely tame and vanilla compared to the source material.

But I think...I think these two take the cake in that department. Two perverts who have absolutely no redeeming human qualities, resort to deadly, pointless violence at the drop of a hat, and have the combined emotional intelligence of a rock. They're perfect for each other! :D

* Most fic with these two would probably have to take off from after the balcony/rooftop finale, but if you can figure out how to make something before that work, go for it! Maybe Kakihara indulges in some very realistic and thought-out fantasies of Ichi coming to kill him that turn into Ichi doing...more...than that.

* R63 AU. Literally everything is the same except that Ichi and Kakihara are women. Or just Kakihara is female! I'm here for it.

* With how easily-manipulated Ichi is, I can all too easily see Kakihara convincing him to ditch Jijii and come work with him. What kind of fucked-up domestic happily ever after do these two bastards get up to? And how many spit-takes are done when Kakihara shows up at some yakuza hangout with his new serial killer boyfriend?

* Some canon divergence where Ichi and Kakihara meet without Jijii's interference, and Ichi isn't actively attempting to kill Kakihara. How does Kakihara react to finally having the famed Ichi to himself?

- Anjou/Kakihara -

To say Kakihara has any good qualities would be a stretch, and yet, you can't help but admire his love for his boss. And, y'know, his love for getting beaten to a pulp by said boss to serve his boner. Honestly, just lean into their canon dynamic and keep Anjou from kicking the bucket, and I'll be happy.

* First meetings! Backstory! Was Kakihara always so flashy and outrageous, or did he develop that persona over time after getting comfortable in Anjou's gang? Was it love at first sight lust at first punch for Kakihara, or did it take him a while to realize what he was feeling for his boss? How did Anjou feel about bringing a wildcard like Kakihara under his wing, especially with how unpredictable he could be? How did Anjou react to his right hand man's very, very obvious crush on him and his fists?

* Do...do I even have to mention what kind of smut I'd like between these two? Exactly what they get up to in canon. There doesn't need to be sex. Kakihara's violence boner is more than enough for me. :D

* R63 AU. Look. Something about a sexually aggressive masochistic crime lord lady and her indulgent older woman boss who beats her up to keep her happy? Makes my id happy.

* Outsider POV! I am so, so here for a look into how other yakuza view Anjou and Kakihara. How many cocky young criminals made the mistake of assuming Kakihara is just Anjou's boytoy? What does a new inductee to Anjou's clan think as they slowly realize that no, Kakihara isn't just putting on an act to intimidate people, he really is Like That? Does a well-meaning but naive outsider assume that Kakihara is being abused against his will and try to "help?" Just...give me all of people trying to process what the hell the relationship is between Anjou and his enforcer.

Combine that with how many humans apparently courted/stalked him thanks to his beauty...it's not a stretch to imagine some nobles would take a very personal interest in the handsome countertenor who quite literally cannot say no.

* Honestly, just go as sleazy and indulgent as you like, here. Think OTT gothic bodice rippers about innocent maidens being taken advantage of by wicked noblemen, except that it's a grown man who's quickly learning how harsh the world can be when you're a food soul with a pretty face.

* I have no preference for the gender(s) of the human(s) who are pursuing Opera Cake. A frustrated noblewoman who has needs that her husband won't fulfill? A husband and wife team who both want to take part in their reluctant guest? The spoiled son of a noble family whose parents' money can buy him whatever - and whoever - he wants? Go wild.

* Crossdressing! So much crossdressing. We know at least one duke has already commissioned an elaborate dress for Opera Cake to wear.

Except that it's hard for a party of adventurers to focus on defeating the big bad when their white mage is crazy about fad diets and their knight is too skinny to lift her legendary sword. What is it?

A 4-volume fantasy/horror manga about three half-youkai men and their screwed up relationships with their promiscuous demon lord father. It's available digitally and paperback on several platforms.

Was I the only one who got some serious incesty vibes from these two? No? Just me?

* Their whole dynamic is a dysfunctional grooming-tastic melting pot of disaster, even if looked at platonically. I'd love something exploring the fucked-up ideas Enju has about family and love thanks to Nurarihyon and the way he treated his "wives" and other children, combined with Enju's complex about proving his worth and being "beautiful" for his father.

* Enju literally wilts at the first sign he's displeased his father in some way. It's all too easy for Nurarihyon take advantage of his mental instability to mold him into the perfect son.

* Post-canon: The brothers have been learning more about each other, and from the way Enju talks about Nurarihyon, Hiiragi starts to suspect that their relationship was less than platonic. Even more worrying to him is the fact that Enju seems to see nothing wrong with that.

* Also post-canon: Enju sneaks into the spirit district to spend quality time with his father.

* Canon divergence where all of Karasu's plans fall through before Enju and Hiiragi have a chance to go against their father. But now that Nurarihyon has Hiiragi, he has no need of Enju. How does Enju cope (or, let's be real, not cope) with losing his father's affection?

A Terrified Teacher at Ghoul School

What is it?

An ongoing comedy manga about a hapless and cowardly human teacher who ends up teaching at a high school full of youkai. It has a huge ensemble cast filled with lovable, diverse, and adorable characters, and is as heartwarming as it is funny. (And, uh, as of vol 8, as fucked up as it is funny. Fair warning.) It's available digitally and in paperback on several platforms.

I just want to "now kiss!" these two. Their relationship is weird and beautiful and they would be the worst boyfriends but in the best way.

(I'd prefer no "omg I'm a teacher dating my student!" angst, simply because with the way their power dynamic is in canon, I can't see it playing out that way.)

* So when does Sano first realize he's gone from hating Haru to tolerating him to admiring him to having a massive crush on him? And how much does Haru have to suffer because Sano's so goddamn mad about that realization?

* Courtship is hard when you're a yakubyougami and your gestures of affection come out as violence and misfortune.

* They have to sneak into a youkai event, so it's time for: Undercover as a couple!

* Dear god, can you imagine Haruaki's family finding out he's dating a youkai? His parents would probably attempt to throw a wedding ceremony on the spot, and for Ameaki...there will be blood.

* Cough cough. Cursed Secondhand Book sex pollen. Need I say more?

- Ameaki Abe/Haruaki Abe -

I love how literally everyone acknowledges Ame's brother complex. I love the ridiculous extents Ame is willing to go to in order to take care of his little bro. I love that Haru is learning to stand up to his brother's more smothering tendencies while still loving and being close to him.

* During one of the academy's mainland field trips, Ame sees Sano doing his sadist thing to Haru, or a drunken Miki menacing him. Cue protective-big-brother-pocalypse.

* Teenage hormones are hard on anyone. I can only imagine they'd be more intense on a pair of brothers who are stuck to each other like glue, only have each other for friends, and one of whom has intense magical abilities that grow erratic with emotions.

* Ame finds himself being targeted by some youkai who is significantly less benevolent than Haru's students (*cough* Dr. Takahashi *cough*). Cue Haru having to overcome his anxiety and be the protective brother for once.

* During his Cursed Secondhand Book adventures, Haru summons Ame to help them. Unfortunately, once the book gets to the erotic section, it decides to target the brothers instead of Sano and Karasuma.

- Rintarou Miki/The Shutendouji -

(THIS WHOLE SECTION IS VOLUME 8 SPOILERS)

Hooooo boy was volume 8 a ride. And between this ship and Enju/Nurarihyon from Yokai Rental Shop, it's clear that "half-youkai man and his terrifying all-powerful abusive youkai parent" is one of my Types(TM). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But, like, seriously - they did all but outright state that Miki's mother was using him as a sex slave, yes? I'm not imagining that? Miki tries to be vague about it, but when he admits that his mother rapes men to steal their energy, and he admits he's been "feeding" her for years, and in the flashback of said feeding he's mostly naked and panting under her...they really went there, and it puts Miki's fear of older women in so much more context.

* We've already seen a youkai take advantage of Miki's fear of women. Maybe another mind-reading youkai goes a step further and impersonates his mother.

* Circa volume 6, Miki's mother learns that he's been getting close to Haruaki. Hatanaka's already stolen her daughter away from her; she won't let a human man take her favorite toy.

* I'm really curious about Miki's expressions of femininity/masculinity, and how that plays into the way his mother groomed him. We know that he used to "think he was a girl" when he was a child - did his mother crush that perception when she singled him out from his sisters as a source of food/satisfaction for her? Or did he hope that by making himself less of a man (so to speak), he'd be less appealing to her? Does that make it harder or easier to identify himself with his gender in his adult life? (I know I have a general DNW for trans headcanons, but Miki's situation is so unique that I can totally see reading him as a trans woman, and I'd be down with that interpretation if you're so inclined.)

Poor Enju is a total disaster, and I can't really blame him with the bizarre isolated environment he grew up in. I'd love something exploring the fucked-up ideas he has about family and love thanks to Nurarihyon and the way he treated his "wives" and other children, combined with Enju's complex about proving his worth and being "beautiful" for his father.

Selective mutism surfaces at inconvenient time - I got the sense from Enju's intro scene that he was supposed to have some issues with this when he was under stress. I'd love something incorporating more of it!

What is it?

Food Fantasy is a F2P mobile RPG where you summon food dishes from around the world - anthropomorphized as hot people - to fight evil. I swear it's better than it sounds. Heck, I even did a promo post for it this year!

I love this disaster vampire man so very much. I'm so here for anything exploring his life, especially his time under the countess and his life of hedonism, high society, and bloodshed. We know from Turkey's backstory that basically everyone (at least other food souls) knew Mary was powerful and dangerous, but how did he establish that reputation? He must have had some involvement with political and bureaucratic affairs outside of being his master's honeypot.

On the other end of the timeline, I'd love a story about what he gets up to after being summoned by a new master attendant who has all these other food souls, and Mary's interactions with those other food souls. How does he cope with having Steak right there and not being allowed to pursue him? Does he give fashion and makeup advice to the female food souls who wanted to be as pretty as him? I like to imagine him bonding with Hotdog (beauty pageant buddies!) or having an awkward but effective arrangement with Boston Lobster (Boston's always too hot, Mary's always too cold...think about it).


- Bloody Mary/Steak -


I...don't think I really have to explain why I ship Mary and Steak. I'd love to see anything with these two, whether it's something leaning into Bloody Mary's one-sided obsession, or something where Steak actually reciprocates his feelings.

Maybe somehow, Bloody Mary actually manages to convince Steak that Red Wine is the bad guy, and Steak comes with Mary instead. How does Mary treat Steak now that he actually has him to himself? Is he as vicious as his reputation suggests, or is he actually a gentle and considerate partner because he doesn't want to drive away the man he thinks of as his soulmate?

Also: Blood kink! C'mon, it's built into these two.

Feel free to go a noncon/dubcon route! Maybe after Bloody Mary gets loose from the church and starts bleeding innocent people dry again, Steak realizes that the best way to pacify Mary is to offer himself up to the vampire. Hylics

What is it?

Hylics is a delightful little indie RPG about four buddies who form a rock band and take a trip to the moon. Which sounds like a relatively mundane premise, but it's set in a surreal far-future Earth, everything is made out of wacky claymation, and parts of the dialogue are written on the spot using random text generation (the core plot remains the same through every playthrough, though). It's wonderful, and the main party is wonderfully shippable.

It takes about 2-3 hours to get through. It's available on Steam, or you can watch a movie version here.

I absolutely adore this ragtag band and want all the fluff about them. I’m fond of the idea of Wayne and Somsnosa having an established relationship and bringing their two new friends into the fold during/after their adventure.

Do they take their new band on tour? Do they all help Dedusmuln with exciting new archaeological expeditions? Do they take a cruise on their ship and have a peaceful vacation because killing the king of the moon is hard work and they deserve it? There's only one bed and bathtub in the resting areas, so there’s gotta be awkward bed-sharing/group-bathing shenanigans. And hey, chilling out in the Cozy Death Realm building sandcastles is canon, so you have a built-in beach episode prompt!

Hurt/comfort is also a possibility. Even in a world where death is no big deal, emotional hurt is still a thing, and Gibby did feel the need to apologize to Wayne for "everything." So maybe Wayne has some complicated feelings about killing Gibby and whatever troubled history they had there? And the rest of the party makes sure he knows they're there for him.

And, well, if you're inclined to write clay-people xeno foursomes I'm not inclined to stop you!

What is it?

Marathon is a trilogy of scifi FPS games about a cyborg supersoldier who has a bad day on the job and gets mixed up in the affairs of several evil AIs and aliens who have a bad habit of kidnapping him for their own agendas. They're fun, packed with worldbuilding and character development, and have plenty of ship potential among the AIs.

Soul Calibur

What is it?

Soul Calibur is a long-running series of fighting games about combatants from around the world repeatedly stabbing each other in an endless custody battle over a cursed sword. Once again, I swear it's better than it sounds.

SC is...not as quick and easy to pick up as the other games in this letter, but if you're interested, the new Soul Calibur VI is a perfectly good (and super fun) starting point!

I'm down to read anything about these two! How did they first meet, and how did Vercci convince Voldo to come work for him in the first place? What were their early years like - how did Voldo adjust from a life on the sea to a place at Vercci's side, and was there a culture clash between him and his master? How did Vercci incorporate Voldo into his professional life, when - going by SCVI - even Vercci's own family was suspicious of the strange boy that Vercci was putting so much time into? What in the hell did Vercci do to make Voldo love him so much, that he'd be so insanely loyal to him even after his death?

When it comes to kinks, well, look at who we're talking about here. Bondage, D/s, and sadomasochism as far as the eye can see. I love these two so much. BT is such a precious darling sweetheart giant robot boy, and his budding relationship with Jack made my heart ache. I just want to see more of them learning about and loving each other, through fluff, adventures, or hurt/comfort!

I'd love something about them being sent off on another mission or encountering some new adversity that gives them an excuse to bond. (I'm fond of the Apex Predators - especially Kane and Ash - so bringing one of those assholes back to cause problems would not go amiss. :D)

I am so weak for hurt/comfort with these two. Maybe Jack gets kidnapped/tortured, but his assailants didn't count on his giant robot boyfriend coming to the rescue. Maybe someone with less than wholesome intentions nabs BT for "science," not counting on the fact that Jack is willing to go through hell and back to get his titan back.

I'm definitely down for smut, too! Any way you want to make it work would be amazing, but I do prefer BT staying in his original body instead of being transferred to a more humanoid one - potentially with Jack kinking exactly on how huge and strong BT is compared to him. c; If you need an excuse for the sex, maybe Jack eats a strange plant in the wilderness and bam, sex pollen. When I was outlining my letter to remind myself of prompts I didn't want to forget, the entire placeholder for this section was "man, can you imagine how shit of a boyfriend Byung would be?" Basically, I'm interested in Byung's twisted, violent possessiveness towards Yohan, and potentially exploring what kind of disastrous relationship would unfold if he actually got what he wanted from Yohan in one way or another. How would Yohan deal? How would Byung act when he's actually-kinda-sorta trying to make Yohan happy, even if it's only to satisfy his own ego?

I'm here for alllll the angst. Some specific prompts:

* A canon divergence during the time when Byung first started stalking Yohan, exploring what would/wouldn't have changed if Yohan had tried to pacify him by indulging him.

* Alternately, something canon-era, where Byung's threatening of Soohwa manages to spook Yohan into giving into his demands? How would the involvement of Soohwa (who is definitely not going to give up his new bf that easily) shake things up?

* For an extra dose of horrible, Byung using Yohan's deafness against him in some way? Honestly, I feel like that would be the thing that finally gets Yohan to go off on him.

Hoo boy. This manga. Ogawa Chise knows how to write fucked-up relationships that leave an impression. I'm super interested in delving more into this pair's twisted and codependent relationship.

* There had to be a point, growing up, when Ataru realized his relationship with his father wasn't normal. What brought the realization on, and how did it change (or not change) his view of his father? When did it start to become Ataru's job to look after his father more than the other way around?

* Okay, but how about that ending? It would be fascinating to explore the fact that Ataru's father seems to be more scared of Ataru than Ataru is of him. Why? Is it just because Ataru reminds him of his past trauma? Because he knows that Ataru could whisper to the press and his career/life would be over? Or does he see something of his own monstrousness in his son?

* Speaking of the press...these two fucked in a classroom in an open school, and in their extra chapter in the Rakuda Tsukai To Ouji No Yoru collection, they have no compunctions about getting it on in a car in broad daylight. Even if Ataru does his best to keep things a secret, something is going to get out eventually. How would they deal with that? Given his father's explosive reaction to even the slightest perceived problems, it'd probably fall to Ataru to try and weasel him out of a scandal.

Far Cry 4

My first time playing through FC4, I basically ignored Sharma Salsa's missions, because I get along with racing missions like a platformer protagonist gets along with water. Murcielago is an action-packed manga about a lesbian serial killer who teams up with a high school girl to Fight Crime. It's adorable, gory, dark, hot, and hilarious all in equal measures. Hylics is a delightful little indie RPG about four buddies who form a rock band and take a trip to the moon. Which sounds like the most mundane premise ever, but it's set in a surreal far-future Earth, everything is made out of wacky claymation, and parts of the dialogue are written on the spot using random text generation (the core plot remains the same through every playthrough, though). It's weird and so, so wonderful.

I love this overpowered little insect queen, and want to know so much more about her! She's clearly close with Wayne, but what's the backstory there? Why is she living alone in such an isolated place? Where did she get those fancy gauntlets? How does being a lead singer work out for her? (Does she get fanboys/girls? She totally does.) During her first appearance, she has a raincloud over her head until she notices Wayne has come to visit her and cheers up - what was she so upset about? Really, anything about Somsnosa's backstory or her relationship with the other party members would be fabulous!

If you're interested in going a shippy route, I am partial to Wayne/Somsnosa or the whole main party as an OT4, but any ship or gen combo involving Somsnosa is good with me!

What is it?

Helter Skelter is a 9-chapter psychological horror manga about an idol whose body, mind, and career are falling apart. Refusing to fade into obscurity quietly, she takes her female assistant and eventually her assistant's boyfriend down with her, roping them into a deeply unhealthy and manipulative threesome relationship.

It has been officially licensed in English and is available for purchase, or scanlations can be found online with a quick google.

This fucking manga, man. I started reading it on a whim and did not expect to get so many feelings. Ririko is such a disaster, and such a terrible person on so many levels, but you just can't hate her when you're inside her head and know what she's going through. And poor Hada and all her conflicted loyalty! I actually gasped in surprise/happiness when I realized she'd still stuck by Ririko after the timeskip.

I'd definitely be interested in post-canon fic exploring what their relationship is like after five years. Details about the sideshow they're working in would be great. Has their relationship changed now that Ririko is likely in a better mental place, if not a perfect one? Did she have to patch Ririko up after her "final performance," which would also be a great opportunity for unhealthy and weird h/c?

Another interesting route to go would be to explore how Hada feels about Ririko's body after she stops trying to fix it. We know in canon that a lot of people are fascinated to see her rot and change - does Hada share that can't-look-away attitude? Hell, maybe she starts to kink on it after a while.

Speaking of kink, smut is obviously welcome! We already have an idea of how kinky Ririko can get with both Hada and her boyfriend, so I wouldn't put any kink off the table for them besides anything in my DNWs list. Whether a missing scene for one of their sexual encounters during the events of canon, or new kinky adventures in their new life at the sideshow, anything exploring their fucked-up sex dynamics would be fabulous.

What is it?

Presentable Liberty is a short free indie game that is packed full of feelings. You play as a nameless prisoner locked up in a cell while the outside world begins to fall apart from a mysterious virus. All you can do is wait and read letters from your close friend Salvadore, who's coming from afar to visit you. You also start receiving letters from Charlotte, a local bakery owner who's desperately searching for other healthy, living people. It's impossible not to get attached to Charlotte and Salvadore, and their relationship with the prisoner is just heartwrenching.

*cough* Now that I’ve got that out of my system...I just want these three to be okay and collectively say “fuck off” to Doctor Money. The fact that Salvadore couldn’t tell anything was wrong until he entered your city means that much of the outside world must still be free of the virus, the prisoner is confirmed to be immune to it, and the fact that Charlotte and Salvadore both had to die by other means suggests that they’re immune to it as well. So there’s nothing stopping them from trying to wander elsewhere and live in peace, right? (Presume canon divergence here wherever needed in order to get the prisoner free and everyone else alive.)

I do personally tend to headcanon the prisoner as male, but I would be happy with a female prisoner as well! I know they don't really get characterization, but their reaction to the person entering their cell in the "Stay" ending makes me think they've got some hopeful innocence in them. First person or second person POV would make sense for this fandom, but if you're not comfortable writing in those POVs, just making up a name for the prisoner would work too.

Lots of comfort to go with all the hurt the game dished out would be fantastic, as would the three of them bonding over Charlotte's music/baking or Salvadore's woodworking. Or just 1000 words of them marching up to Doctor Money's office and beating the crap out of him, I'd take that too.

I absolutely adore this ragtag band and want all the fluff about them. I’m fond of the idea of Wayne and Somsnosa having an established relationship and bringing their two new friends into the fold during/after their adventure.

Do they take their new band on tour? Do they all help Dedusmuln with exciting new archaeological expeditions? Do they take a cruise on their ship and have a peaceful vacation because killing the king of the moon is hard work and they deserve it? There's only one bed and bathtub in the resting areas, so there’s gotta be awkward bed-sharing/group-bathing shenanigans. And hey, chilling out in the Cozy Death Realm building sandcastles is canon, so you have a built-in beach episode prompt!

Hurt/comfort is also a possibility. Even in a world where death is no big deal, emotional hurt is still a thing, and Gibby did feel the need to apologize to Wayne for "everything." So maybe Wayne has some complicated feelings about killing Gibby and whatever history they had there? And the rest of the party makes sure he knows they're there for him.

And, well, if you're inclined to write clay-people xeno foursomes I'm not inclined to stop you!

Demon Girl

What is it?

Demon Girl is a 20-episode* supernatural drama about a half-demon woman named Nie Qing Cheng living in 1920s Shanghai. She's just trying to provide for her family and have a nice relationship with her newly acquired human boyfriend when demon-related drama smacks her in the face. She also winds up attracting the attention of You Tong, a local demon man. You Tong, poorly-socialized disaster that he is, initially tries to pull the "I'm a possessive bad boy and you can only belong to me" act. Qing Cheng shuts him down and points out that she's not going to leave her current love to be his alone, at which point You Tong does a 180 and decides that he'll put his efforts into making sure that she and her soon-to-be husband have the happiest and most stress-free life possible together. And they'll need his help, because a demon hunter is doing her best to ruin Qing Cheng's life. There's mountains of hurt/comfort opportunities, and the perfect setup for a threesome.

I don't think it's officially available in English anywhere, but, ahem, a quick google of the show's title + English sub will get you hooked up.

* There is a 15-episode second season, but I can't find it subbed in English anywhere, so I'm not able to watch it.

This is another OH GOD FIX IT PLEASE request. Let the monster girl be happy and have her soft human husband and well-meaning disaster of a demon boyfriend! After all they've gone through, they deserve it!

I'd be equally happy with either a V-shaped relationship centered around Qing Cheng, or an equal threesome where Ming Xia and You Tong get curious about each other as well. You could branch off canon by either pretending that the show stopped after You Tong walked Qing Cheng down the aisle, or have an AU where Qing Cheng still became demon queen, but handwave it so that Ming Xia can stay with her and You Tong is alive and well. With the former you could have domestic fluff, with the latter you could have badass demon queen and her loyal boys. Either would be delightful.

I just want these three to be allowed to live happily and peacefully together, honestly. Fluff and comfort are desperately needed. Can Qing Cheng go back to teaching at her dance studio? Can Ming Xia teach You Tong some goddamn social skills? The scene at the fair was absolutely precious and brought a grin to my face - can they just go on some nice domestic adventures and have a nice time together?

It also delights me that Ming Xia's reaction to seeing his girlfriend's demon side was the visual equivalent of "holy shit that's scary and hot," and I'd definitely love smut where he gets a hands-on lesson in demon anatomy from Qing Cheng and You Tong. Speaking of which, wing kink anyone?

DreadOut

What is it?

DreadOut is an indie horror game steeped in Indonesian folklore. You play as Linda, a student whose class is taking a field trip when they get stuck in a haunted abandoned town. Linda's longtime best friend Ira gets possessed by something sinister, and their professor, a young woman named Siska, is acting rather suspicious about the whole thing. It's pure old-fashioned tropey horror, and the ending is basically a flashing neon sign saying "PERFECT SETUP FOR DARK FEMSLASH THREESOMES."

* For the Abuse of Authority and Punishment tags, I am definitely also interested in seeing the dark side of their relationship. I mean, it’s clear that Voldo loves Vercci to the moon and back, but it’s also pretty clear that their relationship was far from healthy. There’s a massive power difference between them, Vercci considers Voldo a possession, and Voldo is desperate to follow Vercci’s orders the point of outright self-destructiveness even when the man is dead. There is no way Voldo is able to say no to Vercci, and Vercci knows it. System Shock's been a rediscovered love for me over the last couple months, and it's prompted a stark realization that SHODAN is not just a great villain, but also one hell of a dom. And I just really want to see her fucking up her favorite/least favorite "insects." Specific prompts:

* Body mods! There's so much you can do with them. For the hacker, SHODAN could try to derail him by hacking his neural implant, only to decide that she wants to humiliate him a little while she's in there by messing around with his senses/body functions. For the soldier, canon already gave us the delicious dynamic of SHODAN nonconsensually "improving" him by modding him up, and growing fonder of him the more mods he acquires. Maybe as reward/motivation, she shows him what pleasures he can receive if he lets her take control of his body. Whether he wants it or not.

* When it comes to the hacker, there's a weird dynamic to their relationship; SHODAN hates him both for being human and for trying to interfere with her plans, but she also recognizes that she owes her entire awareness/power to him. Maybe when she drags the hacker through the cyborg-ification process after a game over, she decides to keep him as a special pet, similar to what she did with Diego. And, well, maybe sometimes she deigns to reward him for his service with those pleasures of the flesh that silly humans are so obsessed with...

* I just really love how half of what comes out of SHODAN's voice synthesizer is something humiliating/demeaning. I would 100% read fic entirely about Soldier G65434-2 getting verbally abused while he's just trying to do his damn job for his over-demanding AI boss. But for a more smutswap-compliant take on the kink, maybe the soldier has a masochistic streak that decides to start showing itself at unfortunate times, like when SHODAN is in the middle of insulting him. I just...really want to see more of Michael being terrible to Uriel, honestly. Their dynamic in canon is just absolutely delightful to me. Specific prompts:

* Michael goes through with his threat of tearing off Uriel's other wing. Naturally he gets off on Uriel's pain in the process, and demands that Uriel take care of the arousal he's caused.

Nine Tails is by far my favorite monster in Keepers of the Dark. Her introduction and appearance is genuinely frightening, and the fight with her is exhilarating. And while I may not have come out of the game with any understanding of its plot, I took away something more important: The desire to see Linda getting roughed up by a giant demon-fox-monster-lady. In a sexy way.

I'm equally happy with this being noncon and it being consensual, but I would prefer to have Nine Tails stay in her demon form throughout. Specific prompts:

* Nine Tails' bestiary entry describes her as a fairly benevolent spirit, so why is she attacking Linda so aggressively? Maybe she's angry that Linda's invading her territory, and takes it upon herself to show this intruder her place.

I love these asshole vampire boyfriends so much. They're both such gleefully terrible people, yet they clearly care about each other and get up to worlds of mischief together. (Also, their paired character song is just precious, okay.) I just want to see more of these two being terrible and happy with each other. In an NC-17 way.

* For the Trampling tag - I, uh, really appreciated that throwaway bit in the drama CDs where Tsubaki bragged about pinning Lawless under his shoe and watching him beg. Consider: That, but with Belkia, and consensual.

* Belkia is clearly hungry for attention (quite violently so). Maybe Tsubaki is busy helping his other subclasses and Belkia's feeling ignored, so he takes it upon himself to remind Tsubaki why he's the favorite.

* Although Tsubaki is in a position of power over his subclasses, he treats them more like friends, Belkia especially. But what if one of them decides to roll with that power difference a little more in the bedroom?

* For the First Time and Character Thinks They're Duty-Bound To Have Sex tags in combination - Obviously Belkia is confident and fearlessly close with Tsubaki now, but was he always that way? Anatomy (Video Game)

- The House -

Often, the unnerving uncertainty that comes with considering the deeper aspects of the human psyche is not unlike gazing down at the swimming blackness pooled at the bottom of the basement stairwell. It is a place we spend our childhoods filling with monsters that will lay for years in patient silence. It is a place that, barring some specific errand, we seldom ever want to go.

It's rare that a canon changes your mind about an entire genre. I used to think that walking simulators could never be done in a way that made an effective experience, but Anatomy came out and proved me wrong. It's an excellent piece of horror fiction, showcasing the power of atmosphere and detail, and it's one of the scariest games I've ever played.

Of course, once it was over, I came away wanting to hear more from the house and its unique POV. Specific prompts:

* With all the talk about the mental ties between a resident and their house, could the house feel its residents' emotions and dreams, and what did that do to the house's emotional state?

* What was the cause of that nightmare the woman's voice talked about - what frightened either the house or its residents into dreaming of something so dark?

* Is the protagonist the first person the house has lured into its figurative and literal jaws?

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow

The Dark Lord candidates are one of the things in Castlevania lore with so much potential for intrigue, but of course, the games never go into them much. I just really like Graham, and would love to see anything with him. Specific prompts:

* What was his childhood like? When and how did he find out about the whole reincarnation thing?

* Did he ever meet up with Celia and her candidates, and how did they get on if so?

* What happens in an AU where he beats Soma and tries to take over as lord of a castle he doesn't rightfully own?

Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse

No this is not brought on by the glaring absence of Grant in the animated series what are you talking about I'm not salty you're salty

Grant's been one of my favorite CV characters for ages. Whereas most other CV protagonists have magic, super-strength, or vampire powers on their side, Grant is just a particularly athletic thief who's trying his best to help his people. And what does he get for all his efforts? Captured and turned into a monster. And despite that, he's still goofy and cheery once he's been rescued. A+ job, Grant.

Honestly, like with Graham, there's so little fic about Grant that I would love to see anything with him. Specific prompts:

* Well, it's Halloween after all, so why not angsty horror about Dracula monster-fying and imprisoning him in the clocktower? What kind of painful process was that, and did Grant ever try to escape? How did he handle the other adventurers before Trevor?

* On the happier side, Grant became known as a hero who rebuilt Wallachia after its destruction. I'm down for the fluffy adventures of Grant rediscovering the human kindness he thought he'd lost.

* A shippy take is more than welcome, if you're interested! I'm partial to grateful, worshipful Grant/Trevor (he does canonically look up to Trevor for saving him and being such a cool warrior, after all), Grant/Sypha with lots of mixed feelings from both parties, and working out the love triangle with a Grant/Trevor/Sypha threesome.

God, this movie. There have been plenty of pieces of media that attempt to emulate the gruesome emotional reality of struggling with mental health, but none of them have resonated with me as well as Unedited Footage. Even apart from the subject matter, the short is an excellently-made horror piece, and did a great job of unsettling me, and that was before I played the eerie house exploration game on the associated site.

Of course, the surreal reality that the movie presents, of a woman with a violent mirror of herself that's trying to ruin her life, is ripe for psychological horror potential. Specific prompts:

* Donna's mirror self (who I'll refer to as Evil Donna) is trying to take her place in her household and damage her family. Do her kids try and press back against the change, or do they feel unable to do so because, after all, this is their mother?

* Honestly, I'm here for more of Evil Donna fucking up Donna and Donna fighting right back. If you're interested in going literal with the mindfuckery aspect, well, Donna does say she's having dating troubles, and to quote one of the advertiser annotations, An increase in sexual and gambling urges has been reported in moms undergoing a taking of Claridryl. In some cases the urges were described as "too intense" by the moms, and the dose of Claridryl had to be reduced.

Middens (Video Game)

Have you ever thought to yourself, "Boy, there's a lack of games out there about manipulative, creepily intimate relationships between a sentient gun and a mute human?" You probably haven't, but hey, you're in luck regardless!

Both Genie and Nomad are fascinating characters with so much worldbuilding potential built into them, and I'd love to see anything about them. Specific prompts:

* The Nomad is, as his name implies, a wanderer - so where did he come from before he came into the Rift? His backstory is such a blank slate, you can do anything with him.

* We know how Genie's species are born, but we don't know much about Genie's life before meeting the Nomad. Is the Nomad the first person he's done...this...to?

* Consider the bad ending of Gingiva, where the Nomad has a rather violent reunion with Genie. How does Genie treat him after so long?

* I love, love, love how uncomfortably flirty and friendly Genie is towards the Nomad at all times, and am fully on board with exploring that fucked-up ship. I mean, it's canon that the Nomad is basically jacking Genie off every time they kill someone together. If I had to think about that realization, so do you.

Castlevania: Lament of Innocence

LoI is one of my favorite CV games, and I wish I could give a list of long, thought-out prompts, but I'm a person of simple needs, and what I want for this game can be summarized as:

* Walter doing more bad things to amuse himself.

* Walter doing more bad things to Leon to amuse himself.

* To elaborate, if Leon dies while fighting Walter, Walter announces his intention to turn Leon into a vampire. And we all know how well Walter treats his pets.

Edit: I lied, because I've thought of more things I'd love after posting this:

* A role reversal AU, either of the kind where Leon's the one kidnapped in the first place, or where he's the one trying to plot with vampires to gain immortality.

* Pre-canon fic! For Leon, how did early days as a knight go? How did he meet Sara and/or Mathias? What was his family like? He's so young during the events of the game, he must have started his career in war pretty early. For Walter, we know nothing at all about his life before he was a vampire. He's such a blank slate, I'd love to see any sort of backstory for him.

Subject 13 (Video Game)

Are you looking for a quick puzzle game with fun puzzles, gorgeous melancholy music, and a plot that involves interdimensional groundhog day loops, sarcastic asshole demon gods, and slashy dubcon soulbonding between said asshole god and a human? I didn't think I was, but then Subject 13 came along and gave me what I didn't know I was missing in my life.

There's so much to this plot that could use exploring. Specific prompts:

* Ah Cizin's meeting with and subsequent temptation of the first Franklin to merge souls with him. How did Franklin deal with what must have been an extremely confusing situation?

* Speaking of which, how much of Ah Cizin's in-game personality is his own, and how much is influenced by the twelve different versions of Franklin he's consumed by the time he kidnaps the thirteenth? Think of all the psychological horror potential.

* We only get to see Sophie when she successfully establishes a cross-dimensional connection, but what was she doing in between those moments? I imagine that hopping between different versions of the island must have caused some problems - it probably isn't always as peaceful as it is while the thirteenth Franklin is on it.

* Post-canon, Sophie and Franklin escape together, but neither of them are the Sophie or Franklin that the other knew for their whole lives. What kind of awkward came-back-wrong situations does that cause?

* This game is so shippy, and I'm 200% here for romantic takes. I confess I fell first for the manipulative relationship between Ah Cizin and Franklin (Franklin says outright that the guy loves him before consenting to give him his soul, what more could I want?), but I also love Sophie's dedication to saving the thirteenth Franklin, even though he's not her Franklin, and am down for something exploring that as well. Or, or, throw everyone together into the world's most "...It's complicated" threesome.

The Bright in the Screen (Video Game)

Funny story about this game. I first played it years ago, probably around when it came out, then spent years trying unsuccessfully to find it again because I couldn't remember its name. I finally did a few months ago, and I'm so glad I did, because for all its flaws (mostly in the sense that you'll start playing it and think "oh yeah this is definitely a Newgrounds flash game from 2008"), this game still holds up for me.

The issues with human psychology it touches on - namely the obsessive desire to feel like an enlightened, virtuous person unlike all those other bad, evil people - are particularly relevant given the attitudes that have been creeping into fandom over the last few years. It's also just a really atmospheric little horror piece.

I'm having trouble coming up with specific prompts for this game, but I'd love to see anything about the characters, from surreal psychological horror about identity and self-image, to a completely literal interpretation of the story, where the sarcastic narrator is just herding this poor guy through a hellish monster-infested facility.

Haze (Video Game)

We feel guilt and remorse, not just out of empathy, but out of fear. It's a fear that there is someone who knows. And that, one day, you will have to explain yourself to them.

(A movie version of Haze can be watched here. I would honestly recommend watching it over playing the game itself, because...)

Let me start by saying that Haze is not a good game. At all. By any stretch of the imagination.

And yet.

The plot and characters made me fall so hard and so fast, and now I'm hopelessly in love. The premise is that a powerful private military doses its soldiers with a performance-enhancing drug called Nectar, making them stronger, faster, and deliriously happy 24/7. Shane Carpenter, a college dropout who joined the army to find a sense of purpose, is doing well in battle and ascending the ranks. But as soon as he takes on a mission for a sergeant named Morgan Duvall, the effectiveness of Shane's Nectar starts slipping, and he becomes horrified by Morgan's war crimes and the suffering he's helping cause. He decides to defect and help the group of rebels his army is attacking, which leads to Morgan becoming very pissed at him.

There is so, so much potential for fic exploring different aspects of this delightfully fucked-up universe. Specific prompts:

* The pre-canon adventures of Morgan, "his boys," and their merry war crimes.

* Backstory for Teare's initial Nectar withdrawal, and the horrifying realizations that brought. Or an AU where he doesn't get sniped and accompanies Shane on his mission.

* Post-canon examination of Gabriel's misguided attempts to co-opt Nectar for his own army, and/or how he deals with Shane's resistance to that plan.

* When Shane confronts Morgan, Morgan seems to believe Shane's been brainwashed by the rebels. Consider: Morgan trying to "fix" that and get a little revenge at the same time via noncon Nectar usage. (And/or just straight-up noncon!)

* I am open to and enthusiastic about shipping for this game, and I'd love just about any combination of anyone. I am particularly partial towards manipulative Gabriel/Shane, finding-comfort-in-each-other Teare/Shane, and violent and fucked up Morgan/Shane or Morgan/Teare.
